TRAVELOCITY RIP OFF SCAM

They made a mistake on reservation date. I had to pay hotel directly, because they said travelocity did not, to get a refund from them. I called travelocity and they blamed the hotel, got rude, and refused to refund. I tried to talk to a supervisor and that was worse. Did I mention it was a three hour wait for them to even call me back. Absolutely *** ridiculous. Use another company if you are smart. When they finally called I could barely understand a word the outsourced representative was saying other than NO we can't do that, or I am sorry, or let me put you on hold longer. I mean come on, whatever happened to good customer service, or the customer is always right.

Travelocity - Terrible Customer Service

2.0
Details
Booked packaged vacation deal. Airline changed outbound flight. I spent (no joke) over 15 hours on the phone with Travelocity because they could not get their stuff together. I talked to at least 10 different people who told me different things. The solution to this was simple - place a call to the airline, but since Travelocity is so disorganized and disconnected, it took them over a week to figure this out. In the end, I was forced to cancel a day of my vacation, take an undesirable flight schedule, pay for an extra night of hotel at a rate twice my original booking. What did Travelocity do to compensate me for my trouble? $50 coupon which they linked to the wrong account.

I noticed that United Airlines flight had changed the time for flight in May, booked through Travelocity. The change was to a time 40 minutes later, which drastically altered my ability to meet the requirements of my trip. I called Travelocity customer support, and...

Look at United's Contract of Carriage Rule 24 (c)(3) and (c)(4). If there is a schedule change which affects your trip, United will at its choice 1) send you on another flight which gets you there, 2) send you on a flight with another airline, OR (c)(3) you can chose to have it as a credit for one year without the need to pay a change fee, or (c)(4) get a refund - so in other words, United will get you there or will give you a credit or refund.

This seems like a fair rule. In Contrast, Travelocity's website says if the airline changes your schedule, call us. I guess you got exactly what you agreed to - a lot of talk.

Your experience certainly shows why it is better to go directly through the airline. JrOrlando.

I booked a reservation with a hotel in Mexicali and only agreed to book not purchase. I get the deposit taken out, even though that was not my wish, and upon arriving at the hotel I get told I had to pay again that the money was only to cover the deposit. That was 5 days ago and still no return on the deposit. I called the hotel and still only apologies and no solution or results

Travelocity - Oceanfront Room Review from Dublin, Virginia
I was scammed by Travelocity! I booked a room based on the Travelocity website stating it was Oceanfront. Upon arrival, the hotel is more than 20 miles from an ocean! I called Travelocity and spoke with 3 reps, up to corporate customer service rep Denise Alford. Not...

I think you should sue them in small claims, from the county that you made the reservation in. The ad clearly shows "OCEAN" on it, b) the ad says "IN Greenwich" not "ON Greenwich." It's address is 5793 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach.

Saying it is "in" Greenwich implies that this is an area of town, not a road.[Just like to me Beacon Hill in Boston represents an area, not a street.] and c) the businesses the ad says the hotel is close to, do not give rise to a belief it is not at the beach, e.g. there are beach area golf courses and beach area hospitals.

It is not as if the ad said the hotel was close to downtown which would have put you on notice to investigate further.

Travelocity website scammed me - BEWARE

1.0
Details
Published review 4/10/15 Made hotel reservation in February 2015 for dates in April 2015. Selected an upgraded room on the Travelocity website for a higher price. Received confirmation and I only noticed the price charged was correct. When I got to the hotel Travelocity had booked me the cheapest room for the price of the upgraded suite I requested on their website. I didn't notice at the bottom of the confirmation they listed the cheap room, but charge the suite price. They refused to refund or compensate for the error. In February, the room I got was going for half the price I paid at the hotel itself, so why would I have paid Travelocity twice as much for the cheap room if the hotel had it for half the price. Customers should aware that Travelocity changes what you order online and charges you the higher price. Thoroughly read your whole confirmation, even fine print all the way to the bottom.
