Verified Reviewer |Misleading Pricing – Beware of the Currency Display
- - Prices shown in USD led to an AUD 280 charge, and I won't use Travelocity again.
- - Booking and receipt didn't clearly disclose currency.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience booking through Travelocity.
I booked a one-night stay at The Point Hotel after seeing the advertised price of $195. I had compared it with other booking sites, where the hotel was available from around AUD $179, so I thought I was getting a reasonable deal.
It wasnt until I checked my bank account after my stay that I discovered Id been charged approximately AUD $280.
Only then did I realise the advertised price had been in USD, not AUD. At no point during the booking process was this made clear, and even my booking confirmation and receipt didnt make the currency obvious.
Had I known the price was in USD, I never would have booked through Travelocity.
Paying AUD $280 for this hotel was simply not worth it, and I feel the pricing was misleading.
Travelocity needs to make the booking currency far more obvious so customers know exactly what they are agreeing to before they pay. My experience has left me very disappointed, and I wont be using Travelocity again unless this issue is addressed.
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Make sure you check the currency is displayed in right currency

Verified ReviewerFalse Advertisement/Horrible Experience
Booked hotel onTravelocity.com expecting the beautiful room as seen online. When I turned the corner, those expectations vanished.
The hotel was in a poor location, front desk was filthy, un-sanitized coffee area and the front desk window was shattered. *** had holes in the molding and smelled like mold. Rooms were dirty, smelled like mold, WEED (no-smoking room) and musty. Drove 3hrs home because the clerk said my payment was processed and could not get a refund (booked on Travelocity).
Travelocity does not a have phone number to call and does not respond to correspondence. - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
- No customer service- no response to communications
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: DO NOT use Travelocity.com and Do not stay at the Essence Express Wayne

Verified Reviewer |Worst AA flight ever!
- - Flight delays from 8:45am to 11:58am; long wait on board with a 15-month-old, fuel tanker issues and cleanup, crew timeout, late water service.
Our flight was supposed to leave at 8:45am, but got delayed to 11am, after that to 11:30am, 11:58 am, we finally were boarding with a 15 months old baby and sat in the plane for an hour and waited. Then we were short of fuel and needed a tanker, then, because of spilled fuel, we had to wait to clean it up and wait for a technician to certify, that everything was ok.
After that we were told the crew timed out and we could leave the plane but couldnt come back or we could wait and see if they find another crew. After 45 minutes they found a crew and we had to wait until the plane on the right and left had to be pushed back. We were finally in the air and my daughter asked the flight attendant for water, since we never were offered anything, the flight attendant told her to go back in her seat and wait until she comes around in 10 minutes. After 90 minutes later she finally gave us and the baby something to drink and a cookie!
Before landing, we were told there was a storm and we had to hold for 20-30 minutes, by this time, I cant say anymore, if this actually happened. Needless to say the flight with a small active child was unbearable!
User's recommendation: Bring water onto the plane if you have already experienced delays, I case further delays happen while you’re on the plane.

Verified Reviewer |ELDER and DISABILITY ABUSE
- - Service caused financial burden and distress to a senior with disabilities during a funeral trip; first hotel cancellation was denied after rebook.
Let me begin by saying I've been a loyal patron of Travelocity and Expedia for decades and value their service, quality of experience, great resources, and wonderful prices. That said, it is with a heavy heart that I must report an appalling experience with your service during May 2-15, 2026.
Although I don't take writing negative reviews lightly, I feel compelled to convey to other consumers that your lack of compassion and customer service resulted in severe emotional distress to my 90-year-old mother, a senior with health disabilities. I used your service to book a hotel room for a funeral. (See attached obituary.) At 90, [PERSON_NAME] can still get around, and she wanted to attend her 93-year-old friend's funeral. We booked plane tickets on your site and hotel rooms, and I spent quite a bit of money taking great pains to make my mother's stay happy, but this billing dispute ruined our entire trip.
My mother, who travels in a wheelchair, needs assistance. I booked one hotel (Home2 Suites by [PERSON_NAME]) but learned a few hours later that it was farther from the funeral than expected. Within a few hours, I went back on your site and booked another hotel at a considerable additional expense. (The Legacy Renaissance in [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA], [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA].) I tried to get the first hotel canceled and credited back (it was only a few hours after I made the change) but was unable to do so.
I tried calling the hotel directly to cancel the reservation, which I did. I also canceled on your website but was told no refund would be issued. This is outrageous! I never set foot in this hotel and rebooked at another facility within 8 hours.
As a senior myself (65) on a fixed income, this is a huge imposition. For clients with health or disability issues like my mother, you created an additional financial burden and undue emotional distress on an already stressful event.
I will never use Travelocity or Expedia again. I will have no recourse but to write an unsavory review to warn other seniors and customers with disabilities to steer clear of your site.

Verified Reviewer |Change dates on reservation, was achieved.
got disconnected, and was never able to speak with someone. Had to do it through chat, not my preference.
it was time consuming. But finally got what I needed. I accidentally put wrong check in date.
Also needed to delete check in and extend check out by one day. Doing that on a chat was not simple,

Go to the terms of service that you accepted, find a clause that exempts you because of your age and you should be golden. If not, like everyone else, you will have to abide by the contract that YOU accepted.
You need to read up on elder abuse and mistreatment of individuals with disabilities. Because no one in your fairy tale experienced either.
You booked the wrong hotel. It was non-refundable.
Nothing more. Had you booked DIRECTLY with the hotel, they allow cancellation up to 24 hours prior to the reservation.
I would think that someone of your age would have READ & UNDERSTOOD the terms of service before accepting. I think that you do understand and this is why you're padding the complaint with irrelevant factoids such as why you're travelling and so on.
Here's what you need to do. Go back to the terms that you accepted, READ them.
