Travelocity - Canceling 3mths ahead of time ??? I cant

Ur telling me 3mths ahead of time i cant cancel my booking...wow really...a hotel in the usa...really..not iran...yes a hotel right here in zanesville,ohio...u shouldnt even have a nonrefunding hotel on your web-site...non refunding...seriously....this will also b my last dealing with travelocity too....

Your situation is a good example of why you should never book lodging, air travel or car rentals thru a third party like Travelocity. The hotel was quite correct---you booked thru a third party, not the hotel and you paid the third party, not the hotel. When you book thru a third party, you are locked into them for any problems, etc.

Travelocity is a scam. I was on TripAdvisor and needed to book a room in the Cayman Islands for my wife and I next April 2017. Normally we always use booking.com and have never had any problems on several long international vacations, but they were not available for this particular hotel so we used Travelocity for the very first time. BIG MISTAKE..!! A day after booking I see that my credit card has been charged over $2600 by Travelocity..!! Unlike Booking.com, which has never once charged my credit card for anything and only uses the data for use by the hotel, etc., that you are booking, TRAVELOCITY IMMEDIATELY CHARGES YOUR CREDIT CARD..!! It's pretty easy to understand their scheming business model: TRAVELOCITY CHARGES YOUR CREDIT CARD ($2600+ in my case), EARNS THE INTEREST OFF YOUR MONEY WHILE YOU HAVE TO PAY INTEREST TO YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY, AND THEN, IF YOU CANCEL YOUR RESERVATION ANYTIME PRIOR TO THE ALLOWED CANCELLATION DATE (late March 2017 in my case), THEY WILL ISSUE YOU A COMPLETE REFUND. THIS, OF COURSE, AFTER EARNING INTEREST ON YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PAYING INTEREST ON IT..!! WHAT A SCAM..! Big lesson learned..! But I was able to cancel via the Travelocity website, received a confirmation number and email, and am now awaiting my credit card refund...

The reason for my letter is to make known my experience that I had when buying two hotel nights in the city of Miami Beach. On Tuesday, February 6, 2017, I was looking for a hotel in Miami. I found a very good deal on the Travelocity page - Boutique House in Miami Beach for $ 130 per night plus tax. Confident of that price I proceeded to book and pay with my credit card and continue my trip enjoying the charms of Miami. It was a great surprise when on Monday, February 13, I checked my bank account and found a charge of 402.37 dollars. Totally different from the one I found on the Travelocity page. I called the hotel and they suggested that I contact Travelocity. The person who helped me told me that the values changed depending on the day, that is, the weekends were higher values than Monday to Thursday, to which I replied, "I was guided by the values that the page showed and trusted them". To which the operator always responded when making a reservation, look at the left side of the screen there will appear the exact value of the days that you will stay. This is a situation that I consider very misleading and not transparent because I as a foreign tourist always look for good hotel offers to continue my trip, and I should not have to distrust publications on tourism pages and travel agencies in the United States. I request to review the background provided and to provide a satisfactory response to my request. It should be noted that I feel very disillusioned about Travelocity because of the terrible experience. Travelocity - Denied Refund regarding Hotel safety

I booked a room at a hotel based on the website pictures. I just drove right past when I went to check in. I did not feel safe at that hotel. I never ever checked in based on their cancellation policy. However you would think that a single woman who did not feel safe on the property they could make an exception. I even when on to the same website and booked another hotel for the same night in an area I felt safer in. I was told today that I would not be receiving a credit for a hotel stay that I did not stay in. I will never use nor will I ever recommend Travelosity website again.

TRAVELOCITY NEARLY RUINED MY VACATION. THEY BOOKED MY HOTEL IN THE WRONG NAME. I STOOD AT THE AIRPORT FOR THREE HOURS. I WAS IN A TOWN I HAD NEVER BEEN IN BATTLING TO PRESERVE MY DATA CALLING BACK AND FORTH THE HOTEL AND TRAVELOCITY. I WAS FRUSTRATED AS THEY UTILIZE OVERSEAS OPERATORS TO HANDLE US BASED ISSUES. THE HOTEL COULD NOT ACCEPT MY RESERVATION AS THE NAME CONFLICT PROHIBITS THEM FROM ALLOWING ME INTO THE FACILITY. I COULD HEAR THE FRUSTRATIONS THEY HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING UTILIZING THESE SECOND PARTY $30 - $40 OFF BOOKING AGENTS. THE STRESS THEY ADD TO THE VACATIONING OR BUSINESS EXPERIENCE IS NOT WORTH YOUR SAFETY AND PEACE OF MIND, AT THE LAST MINUTE I HAD TO REBOOK MY ENTIRE HOTEL STAY. Travelocity - Pretty Fishy

I booked a room for 1 night in San Juan. I put the date in the online reservation for Jan 4-5. I looked over the page and then hit submit. I then looked at my confirmation. The confirmation had the dates as Dec 12-13. I tried to find somewhere on the website to change the reservation dates. I was instructed by the website to contact the hotel directly. I did. They said I needed to contact Travelocity. I FINALLY found their number on the internet--not their website. I got an agent on the line. I said that I had made a mistake in booking the date. She got my itinerary number, etc. and pulled up my booking. SHE said, "You put the Jan 4-5 dates on the website and the confirmation had them incorrect." That is indeed what happened, but I didn't tell her that. She said she'd do her best to correct this and not charge me any fees, but she'd need to contact the hotel. Really? I'd already contacted the hotel and was told it wasn't up to them. After a few minutes she came back on the line and told me all was well; however, the rate had gone up by $33. Hmmmm---that fast. As I really need this room, I didn't complain. Then she told me that for my inconvenience I would have a $50 credit next time I booked with Travelocity. That's not happening. I agree with other posters---FRAUD.

booked a hotel reservation itinerary # 7199595209529 on Mon 7/25 for 8/11-8/13 at a price of $86.00. I realized after I printed the confirmation that there was an error and it only booked for one night. I called the hotel and they told me I need to contact travelocity to make a change. I was not able to locate the ph# on the website so I asked the hotel clerk for the phone number. I then called travelocity and explained my situation, the representative, Marcy told me that she would call the hotel and see what could be done. Marcy put me on hold then gets back on the line to tell me there is a 100% charge to cancel the reservation and make a new one. Marcy said she wanted to speak to her supervisor and would call back in 24 to 48 hours. I wanted till Thursday and tried to contact Marcy. I was connected to John L. who told me that Marcy did not leave any notes that I had called earlier in the week. John told me he could book a second room for $106.00 plus tax. I asked why was the price higher and was told that this was the current rate. I asked why I should have to pay the current rate since I had booked on Monday 7/25. John then told me that he would speak with his supervisor ( I should have known then that I was in trouble!!) He gave me a reference number of #1871212. I did not hear from John at all on Thursday, so Friday I called back and spoke with Lauren. I gave her the ref#, which she told me did not exist!!! I asked if there were any notes in my account, she said no! I then gave Lauren the who story and when I was done I discovered the phone was disconnected!! I then called back and spoke to Sam (female) who after explaining the whole story again told me that the additional night would be $140.00!!! So this is my Travelocity story and I expect that they don't read their face book page any more than they take notes!!! I will post this on my Facebook, twitter and Instagram page so that hopefully no else needs to be taken advantage in this way. Oh by the way, I called the hotel direct and received the same quoted price of $140.00.....so much for Travelocity's deals!!!

I made a reservation over the phone with a customer service rep. When I got to the hotel, they couldn't find my reservation. The hotel found the reservation but it was made on July 24 instead of April 24. I called Travelocity and they admitted it was their mistake. They said the only way it could be resolved was to pay for another room and they would the first reservation. After being placed on hold for almost an hour, I had to pay it, because I was already at the hotel. I was already owed a refund for a reservation for the night before at a different hotel (another story) Of course I never got either refund. Travelocity sent several refund receipts showing they processed the refund, but my bank never received it. Now my bank is investigating it and they said there's no guarantee it will be approved.
