Travelocity = The only thing with velocity is your cash heading out
Recently, I had occasion to trust Travelocity to book a business trip (because the business is getting cheaper all the time).
I got an e-mail with confirmation and the rates for cancellation penalties (which were more than 2/3 of the ticket price!)
You guessed it - plans changed last minute and I had to cancel. Forget any refund at all. You can't communicate with their help desk. Several carbon-based robots all allegedly named "Alex" or "Jim" kept reciting that no refunds were possible at all despite their stated policy and the email which they sent.
It took my credit card company three weeks just to get part of the credit their documentation said I was due back - and they won't give documentation so I can't file for reimbursement from my company.
Apparently the way the airlines and other companies have "outsourced" is a script in which the word "cancel" and "refund" do not appear at all.
Monetary Loss: $800.
